đ¤ AI Auto Attendant Setup Guide
The Kiwi VoIP AI Auto Attendant adds smart voice recognition to your call flow, allowing callers to simply speak who or what theyâre calling about â no need to "press 1" or "press 2".
Instead of navigating menus, callers can say things like:
âI need to speak to accountsâ
âCan I talk to someone in sales?â
The system will recognise keywords and route the call to the appropriate destination â giving your business a modern, professional feel.
đŁď¸ How AI Auto Attendant Works
-
Uses speech recognition to match spoken keywords with your configured extension options
-
If the callerâs response matches, the call is routed to that destination
-
If thereâs no match, a retry message is played
-
If retries fail, the system falls back to the standard Auto Attendant (DTMF) menu
đ Required Voice Prompts
Youâll need to record three prompts to use the AI Auto Attendant.
Prompt Type | Star Code | Description |
---|---|---|
Default IVR Prompt | *22 |
Standard auto attendant prompt (e.g. âPress 1 for Sales, 2 for SupportâŚâ) |
AI Voice Prompt | *26 |
Prompts caller to speak their request (e.g. âTell us who you'd like to talk to.â) |
AI Failure Prompt | *28 |
Played if voice input isnât recognised (e.g. âSorry, we didnât catch thatâŚâ) |
You can record these via the portal or by dialling the star codes from a device registered to the number youâre configuring.
đ AI Auto Attendant Call Flow
-
Caller hears the AI voice prompt
-
System listens for speech input
-
If input matches a configured option, the call is routed
-
If no match:
-
Failure prompt is played
-
Caller is prompted again (repeat until timeout)
-
-
If input still not recognised, system falls back to the standard IVR (DTMF) prompt
â ď¸ Note: The AI Auto Attendant only accepts voice input. It does not support DTMF input during the voice recognition phase.
