🅿️ Call Parking Guide

Kiwi VoIP Call Parking: How to Park and Retrieve Calls Easily

Call Parking lets you place a call on hold at one phone and pick it up from another — perfect for transferring calls between staff in different locations or moving from a noisy area to a quiet one.

🔧 What is Call Parking?

Call Parking works like a shared “on-hold” space for your calls. You can park a call from one phone and retrieve it from any other phone in the same group.

🌟 Key Features

  • Park up to 100 calls at once

  • Retrieve from any phone in your calling group

  • Configurable timeout and return behavior

  • Included free with all Kiwi VoIP Cloud PBX lines

  • Works within the same account and group

🛠️ How to Enable Call Parking

  1. Log in to the Kiwi VoIP portal: https://portal.kiwivoip.co.nz

  2. Go to Advanced > Call Parking

  3. ✅ Tick Enable Call Parking

  4. Configure timeout and return-to-origin behavior as required

  5. If call parking is enabled on one extension, it becomes available to all phones in the same group

📌 Use the Line Manager to check or update group assignments

📞 How to Park a Call

During an active call:

  • Dial *07 to park the call in the next available parking slot

  • Or dial *07xx to park the call to a specific slot (e.g., *0705 to park to slot 705)

You’ll hear a message confirming the parking slot number (e.g., "700").
The caller will hear Music on Hold until the call is retrieved.

⏱️ If No One Picks Up...

  • The call will return to the person who parked it

  • Or it can be forwarded to another number (based on your timeout setting)

📲 How to Retrieve a Parked Call

From any phone in the same account and group:

  • Dial *1xxx (replace xxx with the slot number, e.g., *1705 for slot 705)

  • Or dial *17 and follow the prompt to enter the parking slot manually

🔁 Example Scenario

  1. Receptionist answers a call and needs to transfer it to the warehouse

  2. They dial *07, and hear “Call parked on 704”

  3. They page or message the warehouse: “Call waiting on 704”

  4. Warehouse staff dial *1704 from their phone to pick it up
