🛠️ Kiwi VoIP – Default Router, DNS & SMTP Settings

This guide covers the recommended settings for routers connecting to Kiwi VoIP Fibre, ADSL, or VDSL broadband services. Whether you're using PPPoE or DHCP (IPoE), or need DNS and email (SMTP) settings, this page will help get your connection up and running smoothly.

🌐 Fibre Broadband (UFB)

Kiwi VoIP supports both PPPoE and DHCP (IPoE) connection methods.

When placing your order, you can specify whether VLAN tagging (VLAN 10) should be enabled. This makes it easy to match existing router setups, minimising configuration hassle.

✅ PPPoE (Common Fibre Setup)

  • Encapsulation Protocol: PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)

  • VLAN Tagging: Optional (Tag ID 10, if ordered)

  • IP MTU: 1500 Bytes or AUTO

  • Username: Provided via email – contact us if unsure

  • Password: Your Kiwi VoIP account password

💡 We recommend entering your username/password even if port-based authentication is active, as a fallback.

✅ DHCP (IPoE Alternative)

  • Encapsulation: Optional 802.1Q (VLAN Tag ID 10, if ordered)

  • IP MTU: 1500 Bytes or AUTO

  • Username/Password: Not required for DHCP

  • IP Assignment: Automatically handled by Kiwi VoIP servers

📡 ADSL Setup

  • Protocol: PPP over ATM (PPPoA)

  • Encapsulation: VC-MUX

  • VPI/VCI: 0 / 100

  • IP MTU: 1500 Bytes or AUTO

  • Username: Emailed to you (or use user@kiwivoip.co.nz as a fallback)

  • Password: Your Kiwi VoIP password

⚡ VDSL Setup

  • Protocol: PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)

  • Encapsulation: 802.1Q VLAN Tagging

  • VLAN Tag ID: 10

  • IP MTU: 1500 Bytes or AUTO

  • Username: As per setup email (fallback: user@kiwivoip.co.nz)

  • Password: Your Kiwi VoIP password

🌍 DNS Settings

Use the following DNS servers if you need to set them manually:

  • Primary (NS1): 103.29.31.200

  • Secondary (NS2): 103.29.31.201

✉️ SMTP (Outgoing Mail) Settings

For sending emails via Kiwi VoIP's mail relay:

  • Server: smtp.kiwivoip.co.nz

  • Port: 25

⚠️ Some ISPs may block Port 25. If you're having issues, please contact support for an alternative SMTP port.
