🎄 Holiday Time Schedules in Kiwi VoIP Cloud PBX

Planning ahead for public holidays or special closures? The Holiday Time Schedules feature in Kiwi VoIP Cloud PBX ensures your call flow automatically adjusts — no need to manually reconfigure your settings every time your business takes a break.

📅 What It Does

When Holiday Time Schedules are enabled, any Cloud PBX feature that depends on a time schedule (e.g. SimRing, Call Queuing, Auto Attendant) will also check if the day is a holiday.

  • Default Holidays – Kiwi VoIP pre-loads NZ public holidays annually

  • Custom Holidays – Add regional holidays, special events, or unique business closures

🔁 How It Works

If a holiday is active:

  • Any feature configured to trigger during hours will not run

  • Any feature set to trigger outside hours will activate all day

📞 Example 1: Call Queue

You have a call queue active 8:30 am–5:00 pm weekdays.
If Christmas Day falls on a Monday, a call at 10:00 am will bypass the queue and follow your after-hours logic — like voicemail or an alternate greeting.

☎️ Example 2: IVR for Public Holiday

You’ve configured an Auto Attendant (IVR) to only play after hours.
On a custom regional holiday, a call during standard work hours will still play the IVR, treating it as a holiday.

🛠️ How to Enable & Add Holidays

  1. Log into Kiwi VoIP Portal

  2. Navigate to Cloud PBX > Preferences > Time Schedules > Holiday Schedules

  3. Review pre-loaded NZ holidays, or click Add Custom Holiday

  4. Choose:

    • Date

    • Name (e.g. "Regional Anniversary")

    • Scope: Apply to a specific line or entire account

  5. Click Save

🧠 Tip: Custom holidays must be added for each year individually. Plan ahead and set multiple years in advance if needed.

✅ Best For:

  • Offices closed on regional anniversary days

  • Staff Christmas shutdowns

  • One-off closures (e.g. team building days)
